The Saints and McAllister officially will part ways in a joint press conference this afternoon, ending one of the most successful and popular runs in franchise history.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
McAllister turned 30 in December and his role was greatly diminished last season after he returned from his second major knee injury in three years. And he was set to earn $5.3 million in salary and bonuses in 2009. The Saints will save more than $4 million in salary-cap space this year now that McAllister is off the roster and Pierre Thomas appears to be locked in for an increasing role.
