The agent for Warner expects to re-open contracts talks with the team soon, after Warner has had time to "take a deep breath" following a long season. "I think we're going to start talking this week," Mark Bartelstein said on Monday. "I want to talk to Kurt today or tomorrow. I think he wants to take a chance to take a deep breath. He really hasn't had a chance to do that."

Warner started for the NFC in Sunday's Pro Bowl but played only one series. While in Hawaii last week, he reiterated that he's considering retirement and will have a decision in the coming weeks. "Now, he has a chance to decompress a little bit and make sure," Bartelstein said. The 2008 season was the last in a three-year deal for Warner, who is due to become an unrestricted free agent when free agency begins on Feb. 27. Warner turns 38 on June 4 and has said he doesn't want to play elsewhere.
