The Facts:
During an appearance on ESPN Radio in New York, Manning said he underwent an MRI and x-rays on his chest today but they revealed no damage. He said he is simply "banged up" and will be available to play on Sunday.

But as Newsday staffer Tom Rock suggested, what Manning considers banged up and soreness could be enough to slow him down. Last year, after he hurt his shoulder in the opener, he played through the discomfort but wasn't particularly effective. We'll see if he practices tomorrow when the Giants return to work. He said he expects to be there.
