NFL Network insider Adam Schefter is reporting that Williams has been traded to the Cowboys for a first, third and sixth round pick.

The Lions, who were also said to be shopping Jon Kitna among others, were said to be looking for multiple first-rounders, but clearly made out well considering Williams is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent after the season. Detroit would have had a difficult time re-signing him. Now, the Cowboys will have to come up with a long-term deal. In the meantime, Dallas adds a potentially explosive playmaker to an injury-depleted offense.
