Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Speaking at his alma mater Texas over the weekend, Williams said, "Of course I want to stay in Detroit. Everybody wants to stay with the team that drafted them. They are telling me I am going to be a Lion for at least one more season. That's what I have on my mind." Williams is in the final year of his contract and the Lions have yet to approach him about an extension. They could franchise tag him and guarantee him a one-year big payday in 2009. ... The Cowboys are in search of a veteran receiver. And despite HC Rod Marinelli and team president Matt Millen's repeated denials that he's available, the Free Press still believes Williams' contract status makes him a prime target for a possible draft-day trade.
