The Facts:
Griffin is in an optimistic state of mind. The QB is free of the drama that came to define his strained relationship with former coach Mike Shanahan. In a recent interview with FoxSports.com, Griffin spoke of a more united Washington front with Jay Gruden now in charge. "What I think is going to help us most this year is that everybody in that building is going to be for us being successful and for us winning," Griffin said. "There are no ulterior motives."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
You can go ahead and take that last sentence as a not so veiled shot at the departed Shanahan. And if that wasn't enough, Griffin also made sure to point out that his new coach has professional on-field experience, something Shanahan couldn't claim. Gruden played for more than a decade in the Arena League and World League. "Jay played the position of quarterback, so he can see what we're seeing," said Griffin. "He can feel what we feel in the pocket. It's a different coaching philosophy and everyone is enjoying it. ..." As NFL.com suggested, the honeymoon period is most certainly ongoing in D.C. The mood could change without early (and then sustained) success. But for now, fantasy football owners should view Griffin as a player poised to regain past form.
