Eli Manning Well Ahead Of Schedule; QB Says He Feels 100 Percent
(5/13 12:12 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing story. ... Manning will get to work quickly with his newest target, since rookie wideout Odell Beckham arrived in New Jersey with the other Giants rookies to join the offseason workout program on Monday morning. Manning, just one month removed from surgery on his left ankle, is participating in the program, too. He said he’s already doing football drills and even took about half of the practice reps on Monday. “I feel 100 percent,” he said. “But the trainers tell me I’m not.” Reported by the New York Daily News

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Giants had planned to be overly cautious with Manning, with Giants GM Jerry Reese even declaring his quarterback “out for the spring” two weeks ago. But Manning said his “goal from the get-go (was) to get back out there for that first (organized team activity session)” on May 28. And while the Giants have been noncommittal about how much Manning will do on the field this spring, they did cut recently signed quarterback Rusty Smith on Monday -- a possible sign that Manning is further along than they had expected. “I already feel like I can go out there and do everything,” Manning said. “We’ll still be smart about it these next few weeks and not overdo anything. If they want to limit me somewhat, I’ll understand that. But I want to take every single rep and they know that. ...” Again, nobody in the fantasy football world should get too excited about Manning, but we will obviously be following up for those interested.
