Meachem confirmed Tuesday he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery after last season. But it won't slow him down for the next one, he says. "I'm still young, so it doesn't concern me," Meachem said. "I'm 27. I feel great. Just taking it day by day."

In late January, the Chargers wide receiver had a minor procedure performed on his right knee, the same that was surgically repaired before his 2007 rookie season. Meachem, who signed a four-year deal with the Chargers in March, said he "banged" the knee Jan. 1 during the Saints' regular-season finale against the Panthers. He didn't miss any action, catching four passes for 111 yards and a touchdown the next week versus the Lions. He had the knee scoped in the weeks following the Saints' Jan. 14 playoff elimination. ... Meachem has been a full participant and expects to continue the trend.
