With Dallas Clark and Jacob Tamme both gone, Allen joins Coby Fleener to give Andrew Luck and the Colts another strong receiver at the position. According to his NFL.com scouting report, the 6-3, 255-pound Allen has great size for the position and even better speed. He is a polished and accomplished route runner who will be an immediate threat at the pro level. As a classic, line-attached tight end, Allen can work upfield out of a three-point stance without having to align in the slot. He has a rare combination of size, speed and athleticism, and understands the intricacies of the position.
