The Facts:
Following up on the
ongoing story. ... Manning intends to have a new team
within a week. As Jay Glazer of FOXSports pointed out earlier on Thursday via Twitter, teams want to get Peyton on board as soon as possible. As Glazer explains, teams want to use Manning as a recruiting tool for other free agents.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The first target, of course,
will be receiver Reggie Wayne. Beyond that, plenty of other guys with options could end up opting to join Peyton's new team. And as PFT's Mike Florio suggests, Manning will have every incentive to cooperate. Winning another Super Bowl surely is at or near the top of his list wherever he lands and attracting quality players will go a long way toward making that happen. ... Meanwhile, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel is reporting Manning has narrowed
the list of 12 reported suitors to just a couple of teams and the Dolphins are in the mix. Florio also reports that Manning has not told the Redskins to take his name off their wish list (there were
conflicting reports earlier in the day). That doesn't mean he'll pick the Skins or that he's actually interested. Just means they aren't ruled out (and really, why would he tell any potential bidders not to bid?). Also: Several teams who are interested in Manning told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora they have contacted Manning's agent, Tom Condon, wanting to see the QB throw. But they have received no feedback yet as to whether or not Manning will hold one workout for teams, hold individual workouts, or just make visits. ... Stay tuned. We suspect there is more to come.
