As NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora notes, Wallace is set to become an unrestricted free agent March 13, and already has said that he'd consider the San Francisco 49ers and the New England Patriots in free agency. While at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis last week, Steelers GM Kevin Colbert said he was "pretty sure" the team would use the tender on Wallace. "We're going to do everything we can to make sure that Mike Wallace remains a Pittsburgh Steeler, and I think that's Mike's belief as well," Colbert said at the time. "Usually when you've got two parties who share the same goal, it's easier to achieve that goal. ..." Stay tuned. Wallace is certain to draw some interest -- even with a high tender. It'll be interesting to see if Pittsburgh can retain him.
