The Facts:
The Titans have promoted GM Mike Reinfeldt to senior executive vice president and chief operating officer and moved Ruston Webster to GM. The Titans announced the moves Wednesday.

Reinfeldt had served as GM for the past five seasons. Webster had been vice president of player personnel the past two seasons after being hired away from the Seattle Seahawks and was a finalist for the GM job given to Reinfeldt in 2007. The Titans also have promoted Lake Dawson to vice president of player personnel. Both Webster and Dawson had been mentioned as possible general manager candidates for jobs around the NFL over the past two weeks. Dawson interviewed last week with the St. Louis Rams about their vacancy. St. Louis also asked for and received permission to speak with Webster, but never interviewed him, according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Both Dawson and Webster have ties to former Titans coach Jeff Fisher, who has just taken over in St. Louis.
