The Vikings announced an MRI this evening revealed that Peterson suffered a tear to his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

And it may be slightly worse. ... ESPN1500.com's Tom Pelissero, citing an unnamed source, reports both the ACL and MCL are torn. There might be damage to the meniscus also. The usual approach is to let the MCL heal before repairing the ACL -- which will require surgical reconstruction and the usual recovery and rehab time that goes with it -- perhaps as long as nine months. HC Leslie Frazier will offer up more info during his regularly-scheduled Monday afternoon press conference. We'll continue to follow up as developments warrant.
