According to head coach Mike Shanahan, Helu is ready to assume the role of a primary back.

“I thought he was ready,” Shanahan said, explaining why he started Helu after using him as a backup for five of the last six games. Those who follow Shanahan's comments will recall that he heaped similar praise on Helu three weeks ago only to virtually ignore him until this past weekend. Helu certainly played well enough on Sunday to be the primary back going forward.
