HC Jim Schwartz said today that Shaun Hill would not be able to play on Sunday against the Chicago Bears so Stanton would get the call.

Schwartz would not reveal Hill's injury, but it's been reported as a broken right index finger. Schwartz said Hill's status for next week would be re-evaluated. This will be Stanton's second career NFL start. He was named the starter last Dec. 27 against the San Francisco 49ers and he threw three interceptions and was benched in Detroit's 20-6 loss. This season, Stanton got the majority of his action against the Giants, completing 19 passes in 34 attempts for 222 yards, including an 87-yard touchdown pass to Calvin Johnson.
