The Facts:
So far, so good for Jackson following
off-season back surgery. Jackson opened up about his reported April surgery to repair a herniated disc with St. Louis-area reporters Tuesday, saying he’s about four weeks into an eight-week rehab process. Jackson, who said he got immediate relief from nerve pain following the surgery, is currently working out in a pool as he makes his way back to running and cutting on the field.

Jackson explained: “The surgery, really, was up to me. ... I decided to have the surgery, because I was still in the gray area of needing the surgery or not going with the surgery. I met with three specialists around the country. No one definitely said 'Get the surgery,' but looking at the season and being able to fully recover from the injury and being able to go to training camp, April was kind of the deadline. ...” Jackson believes he’s a better back now, because he’s healthy and proved to himself he can play with another level of pain last season. Let's hope it doesn't come to that this fall.
