HC Josh McDaniels and the Broncos wasted little time in selecting Brandon Marshall's replacement, making Thomas the first receiver drafted this year -- ahead of the more acclaimed Dez Bryant. ... According to his NFL.com scouting report, the 6-3, 224-pound Thomas' big-play potential and solid character profile made him more appealing to Denver than Bryant. But this could be a controversial pick. Thomas needs a lot of work on his route-running skills as he tends to round off his breaks and will telegraph his routes with too much upper body movement. In other words, McDaniels' work is cut out for him with Thomas.
