According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the Redskins reached agreement on a one-year deal with Parker. The deal has a maximum value of $3.1 million.

Now, Schefter suggests, Parker, Larry Johnson and Clinton Portis will have an open competition for the Redskins starting RB job; the best back wins. It remains to be seen how many of the losers of that competition will remain on the opening week roster. Recent history -- certainly his last season as a Steeler -- suggests Parker is the dark horse here.
