The Panthers showed how much they value Moore, their third-year QB, giving him the highest possible restricted free agent tenders to keep other teams from pursuing them when the NFL free agency signing period opens Friday. Moore received a one-year contract tender offer of $3.043 million.

That tender means the compensation for any team wanting to bid for Moore would be first- and third-round draft choices going to Carolina if the Panthers chose not to match any outside offers. Now, there likely will be no offers coming which all but ensures nothing is going to get in the way of the QB competition the Panthers are planning on staging between Jake Delhomme and Moore.
