The father of Welker says the family is heartbroken about the knee injury that Welker suffered in today's game against the Houston Texans. "We're sick," Leland Welker told Adam Kilgore of the Boston Globe. "We're absolutely sick. We take all those hits and stuff all season long. And then just one fluke cut, and he just blows it out."

Although HC Bill Belichick said after the game that he didn't have an update on Welker's condition -- and although a complete diagnosis can't be made until Welker has an MRI -- PFT's Michael David Smith notes that Welker's dad seems to have concluded what just about everyone watching the game concluded: Welker's injury is serious, and he won't be on the field in the playoffs. ...
