Morning News staffer Todd Archer doesn't think the Cowboys wanted to let go of Folk. They like his leg, potential and makeup but time just ran out on waiting for him to turn it around. Placing him on IR as some suggested wasn't really an option because he had not been on the injury report all season and he had said countless times his surgically repaired hip was OK. ... Folk said he would be open to returning if he doesn't join another team.
