Thomas replaced Malcolm Kelly in the starting lineup for today's game against the Chiefs. It was Thomas' third career start and second of the season (he started in three WR set with Kelly and Santana Moss against Tampa Bay).

According to Post staffer Rick Maese, the move could be because of lingering pain in Kelly's thumb, but more likely the team is just looking for something different on offense. Any spark at this point would be good for the team (even if it hasn't been apparent through the first half). Before last week's game at Carolina, HC Jim Zorn noted that he was impressed with Thomas' progress and said that he intended to give Thomas more playing time.
