The Kansas City Chiefs announced today that they have traded Thigpen to the Miami Dolphins for an undisclosed draft choice.

Thipgen had fallen to third on the Chiefs depth chart and with Chad Pennington believed to have suffered a season-ending shoulder injury, Profootballtalk.com suggests Thigpen will likely settle into the role of Chad Henne's primary backup in Miami with Pat White remaining an active part of the Wildcat formation. Thigpen is also very athletic and was effective in a spread attack last season. He could be another tool for the Dolphins to use when they go to the Wildcat.
