Thomas issued an injury update Friday, calling himself "questionable" for the season opener against the Detroit Lions next Sunday at the Superdome.

Thomas, who spent the offseason trying to convince team officials that he can be an every-down back, has been sidelined since spraining the MCL in his right knee two weeks ago. Thomas said he is not opposed to playing hurt but wants to be smart and keep the entire season in perspective. On Friday, he estimated his injured knee to be at "65 percent" full strength. ...
