The Facts:
Already thin at wide receiver because of Brandon Marshall’s suspension, the Broncos took another hit when Gaffney suffered a fractured thumb. Gaffney suffered the injury during Friday’s practice and was taken for X-rays following the workout with his hand heavily wrapped.

According to Post staffer Jeff Legwold, the injury will likely sideline Gaffney for several weeks as the hand heals. Legwold went on to suggest Gaffney’s injury is particularly difficult for the Broncos because of his experience in Josh McDaniels’ offense -- the two were together with the Patriots -- and the fact he is able to play all three wide receiver positions in the Broncos’ base offensive formation.
