HC Rex Ryan just announced that Clemens will start the Jets' first preseason game against the Rams.

The announcement came shortly after rookie Mark Sanchez worked as the starter in Saturday morning's practice and responded with what the team's web site characterized as a "sparkling" performance. It was Sanchez’s first full practice with the starting offense but Ryan said that Clemens will be back with the ones this afternoon. Clemens subsequently suggested the two will continue alternating as the starter in practices.
