The Facts:
The Vikings have said they would be interested in Favre if he comes out of retirement. However, a source within the Vikings' organization told NFL.com's Pat Kirwan on Monday that the team hasn't given Favre a deadline to decide whether or not he will play again.

Kirwan's report directly conflicts previous reporting by ESPN's Chris Mortensen and Ed Werder. So who has it right? Does it even matter? Think about it: If Favre had the arthroscopic surgery on his ailing right shoulder as ESPN first reported Sunday night, clearly he did so in order to play. That being the case, does anybody really think the future Hall-of-Fame signal caller is going to let Vikings HC Brad Childress (or anybody else for that matter) impose a deadline on him?
