HC Mike Tomlin wanted to sign both veteran QBs but Leftwich agreed to a two-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. ... Until they get Batch inked, the the Steelers currently have one QB other than Ben Roethlisberger under contract, Dennis Dixon, their fifth-round draft choice last year. Team officials would like to see Dixon compete for the No. 2 spot this year.
