Report: Vikings Pulled Out Of Jay Cutler Talks Last Month
(3/26 8:51 PT)

The Facts:
As the effort continues to identify teams that might be interested in trading for Cutler, one of the franchises presumably on the short list reportedly opted to bow out last month. According to Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports, the Vikings were involved in three-team talks that would have brought Cutler to Minnesota. But the Vikings bowed out because, as Robinson writes, “some elements in the Minnesota coaching staff weren’t entirely sold on Cutler." Reported by Profootballtalk.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As PFT's Mike Florio suggests, if the Vikings felt that way last month, they undoubtedly feel even more strongly about it now, given the extent to which Cutler has battled management in Denver. It's a fight similar to the one Vikings HC Brad Childress had with Daunte Culpepper upon arrival in Minnesota (a situation that didn't end well). Recent rumors (including one first reported and then removed by CBS4 Sports in Denver) suggesting Cutler's consumption of alcohol and lack of intellectual agility worried new Broncos HC Josh McDaniels. ... Also, Redskins HC Jim Zorn claims his team has no interest in Cutler should the Broncos make him available.
