Bennett spent most of the offseason working toward his degree at Vanderbilt but came back last week and was working out with Kyle Orton the next day. While he has a ways to go in securing that starting spot, Bennett believes he's doing what it takes to get there. 'I've gotten a whole lot better [since last season], especially coming in and out of my routes,' he said. 'Today I went through a route, 7-on-7, and had perfect timing with Kyle. Working on the little things like that in the offseason help a lot. ... 'I know [a starting job] is not going to be given to me, so I have to work hard and be consistent every day.' Taking that approach will help.
