As Tribune staffer Roy Cummings noted, the Bucs got a steady performance out Matt Bryant during a trying season for the kicker last year, but Bryant struggled hitting kicks of 40 yards or longer, making just five of 11, including going 0 for 3 on kicks of 50 yards or more. Nugent suffered a strained right quadriceps in the Jets 2008 season opener against the Dolphins and was replaced by veteran Jay Feely for the rest of the season.
