The agent for Warner and G.M. Rod Graves negotiated into the night on Tuesday and a resolution likely will come today. "We talked about things conceptually," said agent Mark Bartelstein. "I think we're going to hear something from them today, and then Kurt has to make a decision."

On Tuesday, Bartelstein proposed a 2-year, $23 million deal that he said included $12 million in guarantees. Cardinals officials did not comment about the offer, but a person with knowledge of negotiations told Republic staffer Kent Somers the $12 million guarantee did not include a first-year salary of $7 million. The Cardinals have a two-year, $20 million offer on the table that includes an additional $3 million in incentives. About $10 million of the deal is guaranteed. ... Stay tuned.
