Following up on the ongoing story. ... Warner's visit to 49ers headquarters will not end with a contract. His agent says there will be no decision coming today. "Nothing is going to happen tonight," said Mark Bartelstein, Warner's agent. "He's going to have to sit down and talk to his wife and me. We'll get through today and figure out what to do from there."

The 49ers sent a private jet Monday for the two-time MVP quarterback, who traveled from Phoenix to the team’s training complex for a physical exam and a meeting with top brass. It's not clear if an offer was made -- and if an offer is made, it's not clear if Warner will accept it or give the Cardinals a chance to match (or beat) it. And assuming it requires matching or beating, would the Cardinals do so? ESPN.com's Michael Smith suggests the Cardinals are standing pat on their two-year, $20 million offer. ... Stay tuned.
