As previously noted, Warner and the Cardinals remain about $3 million to $4 million apart on a two-year deal. According to Press-Democrat staffer Matt Maiocco, there is a faction in the 49ers' hierarchy that believe they have a legitimate chance to acquire Warner; others in the decision-making process have privately expressed skepticism. Maiocco went on to advise readers the fear among some individuals in the 49ers organization is that Warner might cancel his trip to the Bay Area and re-sign with the Cardinals on Sunday. ...
