The Facts:
Shockey, who never participated in the program with the Giants, apparently will show up for the Saints’ off-season sessions next month. “He’ll be there,” promised HC Sean Payton on Thursday. “Drew [Brees] is pretty good about that. Those guys quickly figure out what his calendar is and put their calendar around his accordingly.”

As far as Shockey’s 2008 season, Payton said, “That sports hernia was very significant in what you ask a tight end to do. But the last part of the season he was coming on before he sprained his ankle in Detroit. But he got along great, we have a real strong locker room and the fit with him has been good. ..." We suspect he'll get along even better if he follows through with that promise to remain in New Orleans this spring rather than heading for Miami.
