The Facts:
The Bears might be committed to Orton for next year but beyond that is anybody's guess. GM Jerry Angelo left things up in the air during his Tuesday press conference when asked if Orton is the long-term answer at quarterback. "I'm not convinced 100 percent obviously," he said. "Until Kyle puts a good year together, we can’t say for sure."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Orton is signed through the 2009 season. Angelo didn't rule out searching the free-agent market for another quarterback. ... "[Quarterback is] a very difficult position to play. It consumes an inordinate amount of money on your cap. It’s a very big decision. And we’re going to measure twice to cut once on this one." We would suggest Angelo take a long look at the team's receiving corps (perhaps even doing some cutting there) before passing judgement on Orton.
