Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
"I reached out to him," GM Jerry Reese said of Burress at an impromptu news conference before Sunday's game with the host Redskins. "I did not get a return phone call, so no, we haven't spoken to him yet." Team president and CEO John Mara expressed concern. "I am disappointed that this happened and that any of our guys would put themselves in this situation, but my first concern was for Plaxico's health and well-being," Mara said. In terms of Burress' status, Mara added: "I want to wait until we find out all the facts and circumstances before we make any determination about it. I don't know what happened; until we find out what happened, we're not going to make any comment or make any decision. ..." The safe bet is the legal system and league officials will get first whacks at Burress.
