Two of the highest-profile free-agent running backs are finally getting some interest, from one of the worst teams through two weeks in the NFL. We're told that Shaun Alexander, the 2005 NFL MVP, and Cedric Benson, the fourth overall pick in the 2005 draft, quietly visited with the Lions on Tuesday.

It's unclear whether either will get a contract. Alexander expressed optimism more than a week ago that he'd soon have a new NFL team. Benson hasn't gotten a sniff since being cut by the Bears following two alcohol-related arrests in less than a month. ...
