The Facts:
Today begins a series of four practice sessions that will provide a first look at the quarterback competition that's a lock to be the theme of training camp once it begins in July. Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Since the end of last season, HC Eric Mangini has said the starting QB position is an "open competition" between Chad Pennington and Clemens. While most observers seem to share the view that Clemens is the early favorite, the $140 million spent on free-agent contracts this offseason make it clear the team is in a "win-now" mode. That being the case, Post staffer Mark Cannizzaro suggests that Pennington, who's proven he can win in the NFL with a competent cast surrounding him, might have the edge.
