The Facts:
Johnson is no longer be at the running back mountain top, but the artist formerly known as CJ2K may still have enough life in his legs to make a difference for the Jets. Does Johnson, who has averaged an eye-opening 1,661 total yards during his six-year career, have a 1,200-yard rushing season left in him this season? “That’s up to him,” RBs coach Anthony Lynn told the Daily News. “He’s definitely going to get the ball. So, it’s what he does with the ball. ... He can have as many yards as he wants.”

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
That's an interesting notion. Johnson would certainly like to move back into that 2,000-yard range, but we all know better. Perhaps Lynn should have said "Johnson wants as many yards as he can get. ..." The prevailing theory in New York says that Johnson and Chris Ivory will work in tandem, but the distribution of touches has yet to be determined. That said, there’s enough flexibility built into the system that it’s possible that Johnson could grab a lion’s share of the work if he exhibits the dynamic ability that he once had with the Titans. “We’ve always played the hot guy,” Lynn noted. As Daily News staffer Manish Mehta notes, the Jets have stockpiled running backs, hoping to get as much depth as possible. Bilal Powell, who had a nearly 50-50 split with Ivory in 2013, is also in the mix. The Jets picked up former Rams RB Daryl Richardson. Mike Goodson, rehabbing season-ending ACL/MCL surgery and entailed in legal issues, didn’t attend OTAs and isn’t expected to be on the roster when the season begins. Alex Green is also on the roster. At this point, Johnson is most likely fantasy football weapon; we'll see if that's still the case come September.
