It's Official; No Trial For Ray Rice... But League Discipline Still Possible
(5/20 4:6 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on a previous item. ... Rice won’t have to stand trial in the alleged assault of his now-wife, reports the Press of Atlantic City. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office approved Rice’s request for pretrial intervention on Monday, and Superior Court Judge Michael Donio signed off on it Tuesday. Reported by BaltimoreRavens.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Once Rice completes the program, which will be for a minimum of one year, the court would dismiss the third-degree charge of aggravated assault. There would be no conviction. Rice and his then-fiancée, Janay Palmer, were both originally charged with simple assault after the incident inside an Atlantic City casino elevator early on Feb. 15. The charges against Palmer (now Janay Rice) were later dropped. ... Now Rice, the Ravens and fantasy football owners will await a decision on a possible suspension from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. In March, Goodell said he would “let the facts dictate” his decision.
