Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Johnson told the Baltimore Sun that Thompson will now be facing a lesser charge of misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
No court date has been assigned yet, and the clerk of court said that Thompson is still listed officially as being charged with felony possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Johnson said that it may take some time for the court date to be assigned and for the adjustment in charges to be noted in the court system, which was echoed by the clerk as what tends to happen procedurally. Thompson was arrested and charged Friday night with possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia Friday night, according to the Gainesville, Fla., police department. A former University of Florida player signed as an undrafted free agent in 2012, Thompson is known for his speed and caught 10 passes for 96 yards and no touchdowns after dealing with a foot injury during training camp and at the beginning of the regular season. The case will be reviewed by the NFL under its personal conduct policy.
