Following up on the ongoing story. ... Rodgers still has not received medical clearance to return from his broken collarbone and has missed six consecutive games. When McCarthy met with the team's medical staff Monday, he said Rodgers' situation was not even discussed. McCarthy said that won't happen until Wednesday morning, when Rodgers will be evaluated by team physician Dr. Pat McKenzie. "We're game-planning right now for Matt Flynn," McCarthy said Monday.

Rodgers appeared to be on the verge of a return last week, when he took snaps with the starting offense in practice for the first time since his injury. But a source told ESPN.com's Rob Demovsky that Rodgers underwent a scan after last Thursday's practice, and the result of that scan was not enough to convince McKenzie to clear the star quarterback to return against the Cowboys. ...
