The Facts:
Gronkowski limped to the Patriots' locker room with a left ankle injury after Bernard Pollard, the Ravens safety, tackled him following a third-quarter reception during the Patriots' 23-20 victory in the AFC Championship Game. But Gronkowski quickly returned to the game and was on the field for Tom Brady's game-winning touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Pollard remains infamous in New England after he ended Brady's 2008 season, as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. Pollard also was involved in the play in which Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker injured his knee during the final game of the 2009 regular season, when the safety was with the Houston Texans. ... After the game, WCVB-TV spotted Gronkowski on the confetti-coated field at Gillette Stadium wearing a walking boot to protect his injured ankle. Boston Herald staffer Ian Rapoport advised his readers the ankle didn’t look swollen after the game and Gronkowski said “Yeah, it’s fine,” and wouldn’t elaborate beyond saying it’s “good” to a group of reporters. ...
