Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Bratkowski and Mularkey are good friends and the pair worked together in Atlanta last year. Bratkowski was the offensive coordinator in Cincinnati for 10 years before going to Atlanta for the 2011 season. Bratkowski was fired after 2010 and Bengals QB Carson Palmer, whom Bratkowski is credited with developing, demanded a trade shortly thereafter. Mularkey, who was Atlanta’s OC for the past four years, said Wednesday he will not call offensive plays for the Jaguars. Instead, Mularkey will let Bratkowski do that, making it an even more crucial hire. ESPN reported Thursday that Mularkey contacted former Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer for the offensive coordinator position. The Jets fired Schottenheimer this month. He interviewed for the Jaguars’ head coaching position in New York last week.
