As previously noted in this space, Houshmandzadeh is sorely lacking in the kind of speed and play-making ability the Raiders demand from the position. However, the veteran wideout has spent considerable time in recent months working with current Raiders QB Carson Palmer. It would appear the comfort level between the two explains the signing. ... It remains to be seen, however, how Houshmandzadeh will fit into the team's plans down the stretch. In 10 seasons as a pro, Houshmandzadeh has 616 catches for 7,091 yards and 43 touchdowns. ...
