Rick Burkholder held a conference call Wednesday night to talk about Jeremy Maclin. A few items of interest (via
Profootballtalk.com): Maclin can start lifting and running right away, but he won’t practice for 7-10 days. He has some work to do before getting back in “football shape. ...” Also: All cancer tests were negative. Maclin had some sort of virus and Burkholder intimated that it’s still a little unclear what the exact problem was. “A lot of things [were] going on, nothing definitive,” Burkholder said, according to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News. On a couple more positive notes, Maclin has been symptom free. Burkholder is confident the virus is not “life threatening.” Maclin had minor surgery to examine his lymph nodes last week, but the surgery is not something that takes time to recover from. ... And most important: Burkholder said it's "very realistic" to believe Maclin will be ready for the season opener in St. Louis.
