The Facts:
Stafford underwent surgery on his right shoulder this morning and will be sidelined for about four months. According to a league source, Dr. James Andrew performed the surgery, which included an AC joint repair and a shaving of the clavicle. According to the source, Dr. Andrews told Stafford that he could eventually get better without the surgery but that the procedure would be a better approach.

According to MLive.com's Tom Kowalski, Stafford, who suffered an injury to the same shoulder twice during the 2010 season, is expected be 100 percent by the team's mini-camp in May. He would not be ready for the team's off-season workouts, which begin in March (labor situation allowing).
