Davis, a veteran of 19 NFL seasons as an assistant, was hired as the Cardinals' linebackers coach in 2007 and promoted to defensive coordinator following the firing of Clancy Pendergast in 2009. The Cardinals' defense finished 29th in the league in total defense this season, allowing 373.6 yards per game. The unit ranked 23rd in passing yards allowed (228.4) and 30th in rushing yards allowed (145.2). Worth noting: The offense was worse. That unit ranked 31st in yards, last in rushing and last in third-down efficiency.
