The Facts:
Jackson, who sat out the first seven games of the season due to a contract dispute and the last three while serving a suspension, started Sunday night’s contest against the Colts and was on the sideline for good by the time the Chargers took their third snap. A “calf injury” was cited as the reason for his unavailability.

The timing of the injury surely will raise eyebrows and more questions, just as the timing of his return to the team had underlying implications. Not a target in either of the first two plays, Jackson came off the field slowly, but not limping, and soon was being attended to by trainers. Taking a seat on the bench, he removed his helmet and both cleats, then laced them back up and walked the sideline. Several minutes later, it was announced that Jackson would not play the rest of the night. “Unfortunately, it’s what happens when you haven’t been going,” said head coach Norv Turner. “His calf, he’s got a strain in it, and he was pretty sore. Hopefully, it’s not a long-term deal and we can get him back. ..." We'll see.
